Congress on palliative care and aging: experts from Germany, Spain, Argentina, Mexico and Colombia discuss on this topic
Under the title New paradigms in internal medicine: palliative care and aging, towards an integrated model of health, CliniSanitas clinics and Fundación Universitaria Sanitas organized in Bogota (Colombia) a congress composed by seven conference modules to analyze this topic from different approaches: Palliative care and aging, a global challenge; Quality criteria in palliative care; Clinical approaches in the approach of the older adult from the perspective of Geriatrics; Multidisciplinary approach in the natural course of chronic disease; Decision-making at the end of life: How, when and where to attend in palliative care? and Social Dimension of Palliative Care: Compassionate Cities.
The list of lectures was headed by Tania Pastrana, president of the Latin American Association of Palliative Care and representative of the University of Aachen in Germany; José Jáuregui, president of the Gerontology and Geriatrics Association of Argentina; Arturo Ávila, representative of the Institute of Geriatrics of Mexico and Zacarías Rodríguez and Maider Grajales, representatives of the New Health Foundation of Spain.
